Building U - Water Supply Shutdown - Burwood
Starts 29/08/2023, finishes 29/09/2023Building U at the Burwood Campus is reopening on Monday 4 September, with the water supply to remain shut off.
The building was closed earlier this week while the Infrastructure, Property and Precincts (IPP) Facilities Team investigated the discolouration of the water supply throughout the building.
IPP have found the cause of this discolouration and is working on conducting repairs, while this takes place, the building is safe to occupy for teaching, learning and working. As the water supply needs to remain shut off to conduct these repairs, staff will need to utilise the following facilities:
- Toilet amenities - please use neighbouring Buildings J, W or Y. All Gender Accessible facilities are available in these alternative buildings.
- Drinking water - water coolers will be available throughout Building U to provide drinking water while repairs continue. Alternatively,   external drinking fountains are also available, with the closest located between Car Park 1 and Building BC and another adjacent to Building A on Morgan's Walk.
We are not expecting repairs to be any more disruptive than outlined above, however, if you are in the building you may notice the presence of contractors carrying out investigations and quiet works.
