Content
This unit invites students to examine the motivations and functions behind creating and disseminating digital images and photographic prints within a rapidly changing global context. Practical workshops will consider:
- Contemporary printing methods
- Hands on experience in studio lighting
- Experimentation with materials
- Abstracting the image
- Post production manipulation
- Hybrid processes
- Alternative installation practices
In this unit students will critically explore the latest developments in photographic imaging and apply these methods and technologies to their creative practices. Through seminars, close readings and assessment tasks, students will explore the possibilities of contemporary lens-based practices with a particular focus on post-production methods and the realisation of resolved works for professional presentation.
