Overview
The cell is the most essential building block of life – a remarkable unit where chemistry, physics and biology come together to sustain living systems. Cellular biomedicine explores life at this fundamental level, investigating how molecular and cellular processes govern the function of tissues, organs and entire organisms.
Gain a strong foundation in cell biology, biochemistry and genetics, essential for understanding the biological mechanisms underlying health and disease. Building on this, you will study pharmacology, toxicology and cell and tissue engineering, exploring drug mechanisms, toxicology principles and experimental models relevant to regenerative medicine and therapeutic development.
You will also develop skills in scientific communication, data analysis and laboratory techniques used in academic and industry settings. As a graduate, you will be well prepared for a career in biomedical research, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, regulatory agencies and the broader health care sector. The major also offers excellent preparation for further study in honours and postgraduate programs in biomedical and health sciences.
