Successful completion of MLL119 and MLL219 plus 4 additional Law (MLL) units.

Students who have commenced before Trimester 1 2022, and have successfully completed MLL111, are not required to complete MLL119 and MLL219

Content

The unit aims to provide students with a sound grasp of the concept of property and proprietary interests in relation to both real and personal property. The unit will also act as an introduction to MLL325 Land Law and to aspects of the law relating to personal and intellectual property. The syllabus includes the concepts of property; personal property, fixtures and security interests in personal property; possession, seisin and title; adverse possession; fragmentation of proprietary interests; tenure, estates and native title; equitable interests in property; leasehold; easements; restrictive covenants; mortgages; acquisition and enforcement of interests in property; and legal and equitable remedies in relation to property.
