Content
In the contemporary workplace, identifying and documenting transferable skills and experience is a requirement to explore and enhance professional capabilities. The unit is modelled on a strengths-based approach to career direction and asks students to document their current transferable skills and experience as a basis for future career preparation. Through the study of 3 structured modules and a scenario-designed approach, the unit offers the time and focus to present 3 professionally designed tasks intended to support a typical role you may undertake in the land and sea Country sector. To exhibit these skills, you will begin by reporting on the current and future skill needs in the sector you work in. Secondly, you will prepare an up-to-date professional practice portfolio representative of your professional skills and experience. Finally, you will present a digital presentation on a topic of your choice that is of excellent professional standard. Throughout the unit, you will be called upon to gather and analyse data, continually self-reflect and meet deadlines. The unit is designed to place you in the context of a workplace and inspire you to see a life-long learning approach to work and professional development for the future.
