Students will on average spend 150 hours over the trimester undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit.

Online independent and collaborative learning activities including 5x1 hour scheduled online seminars (recordings provided).

Note:

This unit is recommended as an elective for students enrolled in a Graduate Diploma of Nursing planning to undertake H777 Master of Advanced Nursing or H771 Master of Advanced Clinical Nursing via the thesis stream.

Content

In this unit you will develop knowledge of a variety of research paradigms, frameworks, methods and approaches relevant to applied research in nursing and midwifery. You will explore the nature, scope and purpose of research within clinical or academic practice contexts. You will undertake a comprehensive and systematic search of the literature and critical appraisal of the evidence to address a research question in your cognate area.
