Content
This unit is designed for background speakers of Chinese seeking to develop language proficiency for academic and professional contexts related to China. It consolidates and extends practical skills in spoken and written communication, with a focus on fields such as commerce, tourism, and industry. Students engage with authentic materials (e.g. contemporary writing, newspapers, and journal articles) to analyse social, cultural, and current issues. The unit emphasises context???appropriate language use and a deeper understanding of language in real???world communication, preparing students for effective intercultural and professional engagement.
