Typical study commitment:

Contact hours will vary based on experience. All offerings will comprise of WIL experience related contact (approximately 80-160 hours) plus approximately 20-40 hours for individual reflection and assessment. Some experiences may require additional compulsory orientation events.

Students must attend and participate in experience-based activities on the scheduled days, as detailed in their agreement/experience outline.

All students will be required to have completed specific WIL pre-placement modules (approximately 2 hours) prior to commencing their first WIL experience.

Examples:

Short term experiences (e.g. an International tour) will involve 10-24 days of intensive experience, plus compulsory face-to-face orientation session (4-5 hours).

Longer term experiences will require 80-160 hours of supervised contact. This may be taken one day per week or in an intensive block mode over a number of weeks.

This unit aims to engage students in an authentic experience that provides them with an opportunity to develop a greater understanding of the impact business has on society, communities, and the broader environment. 

Students will critically reflect upon their experience, relevant graduate attributes, and employability competencies through a progressive assessment process.

Hurdle requirement

1. Students must successfully complete the WIL pre-placement modules before they can attain access to the unit dropboxes.

2. Achieve at least 50% of the marks available on the submission task that requires reflection on the ULOs to evidence a minimum proficiency
