Content

This unit introduces students to the nature of social media and its cultural politics. It familiarises students with software tools for accessing, analysing, and visualing social media data. It also explores (1) the implications of accessing social media data; (2) the benefits and problems with analysing social media data in real time; (3) the approaches to analysing social media data for trends and patterns; and (4) the approaches for social media data-driven innovation in organisations.

Assessment 1: (Individual) Case Study Report (1,500 words) 20%

Assessment 2a: (Individual) Social Media Analysis Report (3,000 words) 25%

Assessment 2b: (Individual) Video Presentation (10-minutes) 5%
