Content

This is the first specialist Education Studies unit being offered in the Bachelor of Arts. During this unit you will be asked to explore, debate, discuss and challenge your own understanding, beliefs, experiences in education and begin the process of critical reflection around the purpose and value of education today.

This unit provides you with a broad introduction to the study of education theory and practice, spanning the related disciplines of sociology, philosophy, history and political science. It considers the development of professional knowledge in Education and the development of a range of educational theories to analyse the relationship between education and society with reference to education institutions such as: early childhood Education, schooling, training, higher Education, and adult and community.
