Content

This unit is the culmination of the Theatre or Dance major and requires students to work with an ensemble or group to realise a performance project through devising or composition. Drawing on the learning from ACP324 or ACD309, student teams will execute their proposed project from conception, research, planning and development, to presentation. Under staff supervision, ensembles/groups will use appropriate methods and processes to develop their performance vision taking into account parameters for time and resource management. Processes will include application of relevant dramaturgical or choreographic principles, and the demonstration of an articulate vocabulary in devising or composition including research and development strategies, toward the realisation of the thematic or conceptual ideas as a performed work.

Hurdle requirement

Students enrolled in this unit must participate in 2 practical, dance or theatre technique workshops per week. These practical workshops will enable students to develop appropriate skills applicable to their particular discipline and aid the development of performative content for assessment task 3. The workshops will also ask students to engage with standards and expectations as they exist in the professional context.
